NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament: Opening Round - Session 2 (Time:TBD) at INTRUST Bank Arena

Opening Round Session 2 arrives at INTRUST Bank Arena on March 17, 2027, with tip-off at 6:40 PM. Opening Round competition determines which teams advance in the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Championship and which programs watch the rest of March from home. The newly expanded 76-team tournament format created these additional Opening Round games in Wichita.

Wichita joined Dayton, Ohio, as one of only two Opening Round host cities selected by the NCAA for 2027 and 2028. The Division I Men's Basketball Committee chose Wichita for its basketball-passionate community and proven ability to create first-class championship experiences. Visit Wichita, Wichita State University, INTRUST Bank Arena, the City of Wichita, and Sedgwick County partnered to bring these games to Kansas.

Win-or-go-home tournament basketball carries different weight than regular season games. Teams arrive knowing their entire season hinges on one performance, with no safety net and no tomorrow if they fall short. Session 2 showcases programs fighting under that pressure while a knowledgeable crowd watches every substitution, timeout, and momentum shift unfold.
