About Orpheum Theatre — Wichita

The Orpheum Theatre sits at the corner of First and Broadway in downtown Wichita, at 200 N Broadway. This historic theatre hosts touring music, comedy, film and theatrical events, with seating across orchestra, mezzanine and balcony levels. Tickets are available online at wichitaorpheum.com, by phone, or in person at the Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena, with day-of sales also at the Orpheum's own box office. Because the building dates back to the 1920s, some modern conveniences like elevators are not available on every level, so it helps to plan ahead, especially if you need accessible seating or have questions about a specific event's policies.

Plan Your Visit to Orpheum Theatre — Wichita

What are the seating options?

The Orpheum offers three seating levels: orchestra, mezzanine and balcony. Because this is a historic building, there is no elevator to the mezzanine or balcony, so guests who need step-free access should plan to sit on the orchestra level.

Where can I park and how do I arrive?

Reservable parking is available directly north of the theatre, with current rates shown by the parking provider. Guests being dropped off — including by hotel shuttle, limousine or bus — can be let out on Broadway just north of First Street.

Tailgating and overnight parking are not permitted at the Orpheum.

What accessibility services are available?

Accessible seating is available on the orchestra level at various price points; request it when purchasing tickets online or at the box office. These seats are typically held back from general sale and released when no two adjacent seats remain available at a given price level. Each guest requiring accessible seating may purchase up to three adjacent companion seats, subject to availability. If you arrive without having arranged this in advance, go to the Box Office to request relocation to ADA seating.

ADA parking is located in the southernmost row of the Orpheum lot next to the building, on a first-come, first-served basis; a disabled identification card may be requested. Street parking on First Street is closer to the main doors but is not a designated accessible space. The theatre does not have Assisted Listening Devices. Sign language interpretation may be arranged for spoken-word events with at least seven days' notice, subject to interpreter availability and artist consent.

Contact the theatre before your visit about service-animal arrangements or any accommodation questions specific to your event.

What can I bring inside?

All bags are searched at entry. Backpacks and bags larger than 14×14×6 inches are not allowed inside, though smaller bags and baby bags are permitted. The theatre does not offer a coat check, so plan to keep track of any belongings yourself.

Outside food and drink are not allowed; items will need to be disposed of or returned to your vehicle before entering. Strollers are also not permitted due to space limitations, so leave them in the vehicle. Laptops, tablets and similar personal computers are generally not allowed inside for most events, though it's worth calling ahead if you have a specific need.

What food and drink are available?

Concessions include Pepsi products, popcorn and candy, and a full bar operates at most events; pizza by the slice is available on movie nights. Payment is by credit card or mobile pay only — the Orpheum does not accept cash at concessions, and there are no ATMs inside.

How do I contact the box office?

Tickets can be purchased online at wichitaorpheum.com, by phone, or in person at the Box Office at INTRUST Bank Arena ahead of the event. Day-of tickets are also available at the Orpheum's own box office. For the most current information on whether an event is sold out, check the event page, selectaseat.com, ticketmaster.com, or call the box office.

Orpheum Theatre — Wichita FAQs

What time do doors open?

Door times vary by event but typically range from 30 to 60 minutes before the show starts. Check the specific event page on the Orpheum's website or call 316-263-0884 for exact times.

Can I bring a bag inside?

Bags are searched at the door. Backpacks and bags larger than 14×14×6 inches are not allowed, but smaller bags and baby bags are fine.

Is there an elevator to the upper levels?

No. Because of the building's historic design, there is no elevator to the mezzanine or balcony. Accessible seating is available on the orchestra level instead — request it when you buy tickets.

Where do I park, and is accessible parking available?

The venue links reservable parking directly north of the theatre. Accessible parking is in the southernmost row of the adjacent lot and is first-come, first-served. Check current parking rates before booking.

At what age does a child need a ticket?

For most events, children two and under can sit on an adult's lap without a ticket. Children three and older need their own ticket and seat. Some children's shows may have different age policies, so check with the box office.

Can I bring outside food or drinks?

No. Outside food and beverages are not allowed inside, and you'll be asked to dispose of them or return them to your vehicle before entering.
