Jane Eyre - The Musical

Jane Eyre - The Musical at The Forum Theatre - KS

Charlotte Brontë's heroine comes to musical life in this theatrical production, where Jane navigates the shadows of Thornfield Hall and confronts the enigmatic Edward Rochester. The story centers on a mistreated orphan who transforms into an independent woman, caught in a web of secrets, danger, and betrayal that tests her resolve and challenges everything she believes about love and herself.

Wichita holds a unique place in this musical's history. The first fully staged production premiered here in 1996, produced by Kathryn Page Hauptman and directed by John Caird, starring Anthony Crivello and Marla Schaffel. Four years later, the Broadway production opened and earned five Tony nominations including Best Book and Best Musical Score, cementing the work's place in American theatre.

The score carries you through Jane's emotional arc, from self-doubt to self-knowledge, through heartbreaking loss to forgiveness. Every scene asks how we restore ourselves when life falls apart and whether love can survive brutal honesty. This is live entertainment built on inner strength and the refusal to settle for anything less than independence.
