Jane Eyre - The Musical

Jane Eyre - The Musical at The Forum Theatre - KS

When a mistreated orphan discovers her own power, the stage becomes a landscape of secrets and the kind of love that refuses to stay quiet. Jane Eyre - The Musical transforms Charlotte Brontë's beloved novel into live theatre where every note carries the weight of choice. This new version of the five-time Tony-nominated musical brings John Caird's book and Paul Gordon's score to The Forum Theatre on February 25, 2027, at 8:00 PM in Wichita.

The musical earned Tony nominations for Best Book and Best Musical Score when it opened on Broadway in 2000, recognition that speaks to its emotional depth and theatrical craft. Jane navigates the mysteries of Thornfield Hall and its enigmatic owner, Edward Rochester, in a web of lies that demands courage to untangle. The story honors self-doubt and heartbreaking loss, but also inner strength and forgiveness.

Wichita holds a unique connection to this musical. The first fully staged production premiered here in 1996, produced by Kathryn Page Hauptman and directed by John Caird himself, starring Anthony Crivello and Marla Schaffel. That history adds resonance to this February performance, a homecoming for a work that began its journey on local stages before reaching Broadway.
