Jane Eyre - The Musical
Jane Eyre - The Musical at The Forum Theatre - KS
Wichita holds a special place in the history of Jane Eyre - The Musical. The first fully staged production premiered here in 1996, before the show moved to Broadway and earned five Tony nominations including Best Book and Best Musical Score. Now the five-time Tony-nominated work by John Caird and Paul Gordon returns to where it began, bringing the passionate tale of transformation and resilience back to live theatre audiences.
At Thornfield Hall, secrets multiply in the shadows. Jane navigates a web of lies and danger surrounding the mysterious Edward Rochester, facing betrayal and heart-breaking loss. The story follows her journey from mistreated orphan to independent woman, powered by inner strength, self-knowledge, and forgiveness. These themes transform a Gothic romance into a beloved classic love story that continues to resonate.
Paul Gordon's score breathes musical life into Charlotte Brontë's world, while John Caird's vision shapes the theatrical experience. This new version of the production arrives at The Forum Theatre on Sunday, February 21, 2027, at 2:00 PM in Wichita. The staging brings audiences into Jane's emotional landscape, where each choice carries weight and consequences.
