Annie
Annie at The Forum Theatre - KS
The Forum Theatre presents Annie on Wednesday, December 2, 2026 at 7:30 PM in Wichita. This seven-time Tony Award-winning musical comedy gets a production designed to challenge the idea that it's only for children. The Forum sharpens the storytelling for adult audiences while keeping the emotional core that made the show a Broadway classic.
Annie's escape into 1930s New York City unfolds through a series of adventures that put her face to face with the cruel Miss Hannigan and eventually President Franklin Delano Roosevelt. The live theatre format brings these encounters to life with timing and presence that recorded versions can't match. Humor and heart work together as the story explores hope and the drive to make dreams come true against difficult odds.
The Forum's December production frames the musical as Christmas magic with real substance. Themes of love, determination, and impossible dreams offer adults another way to connect with a musical they may remember from childhood.
This isn't a children's matinee but an evening designed to remind you why the story endures.
